OLM MISSION, VISION AND 7 PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to continually operate as a Kingdom-Driven, Christ-Centered outreach center focused on winning souls and extending unconditional love to all.

OUR VISION

Our fulfillment of the vision at One Love Ministries from year to year rests heavily on the abiding Words of Jesus Christ, who gives us the Power Scripture of our ministry:

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. --  Matthew 25:35-36  (NASB)

We eagerly accept our God-given charge to always remember the poor, the marginalized and the oppressed.  By applying the above scripture, we are carrying out one of the greatest calls of our ministry, to meet the needs of our members and surrounding communities. God has implanted within this ministry an unquenchable thirst and zeal to continuously walk in agape (unconditional) love and to serve the needs of our community through outreach. As stated in Matthew by Christ Himself, outreach is at the heart of God and we will not forget that at One Love Ministries.  In order to keep us focused on this vision, God has challenged us to maintain 7 principles of purpose. These principles will be our guiding force to help us in keeping the vision!! 

7  PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE

The values of One Love Ministries are undergirded by our 7 PRINCIPLES OF PURPOSE which shall always drive our ministry, purpose and vision:

1. Evangelism – Our number one goal is and will always be the salvation of the lost. We will aggressively reach out to the unsaved and the unchurched, and people who simply want a “do-over” or, simply put, a fresh start from the mistakes they have made in their past.  We want to expand to reach people from all races, cultures and socio-economic classes cultures and socio-economic classes. We will embrace the charge to walk in the unconditional love of Christ and to demonstrate that love through word and deed.
2. We will seek the holistic improvement of each member of our ministry – spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. We will preach and teach biblical mandates to achieve success in all these areas. We will also make available the necessary classes, group resources, and qualified individuals to help each willing member achieve holistic improvement.
3. We will empower youth in our church and community with the Word of God, programs, resources, arts, training and state-of-the-art facilities to meet their needs.
4. We will always strive for outreach programs for hurting people (i.e. homeless, poor, those with substance abuse issues, the incarcerated, widows, orphans, those who have suffered physical, verbal or emotional abuse, etc).
5. We will have a kingdom impact on the city of Durham and surrounding areas with our television ministry, outreach campaigns, city-wide events, revivals, prayers, intercession, partnership with local schools, communities and city officials, etc.
6. We will continue to be the model for excellent ministry in our city and in the nation. We will always strive to be excellent in our customer service – how we treat our members, visitors and guests from the moment they pull into our parking lot to when they leave, and how we respond to them when they call, email or write with request or concerns. We will be the standard for excellence in how we treat people.
7. We will remain humble and maintain the spirit of love and sincerity that we have had since our inception at all times and give all credit and glory to God for our success.

 

 TARGETED TASKS FOR MINISTRY include but are not limited to:

(1)             Becoming a host site for Angel Food Ministries

(2)             Tutoring for kids and adults who struggle in general academia

(3)             Providing a clothing store “Trinity Wear Fashions” where one can shop for FREE

(4)             Hosting a computer lab with instructors to assist in teaching basic computer skills

(5)             Purchasing a church van(s) and providing transportation for the elderly and local residents who express a desire to attend OLM

(6)             Evangelizing to local communities about the Kingdom of God

(7)             Providing financial workshops and seminars to empower our community with good stewardship instruction and guidance

(8)             Providing discipleship and kingdom living classes for all

(9)             Forming ministries to help the incarcerated and disadvantaged

(10)          Connecting with local assisted living Centers, rest homes, orphanages, for sharing the Love and Word of God

(11)          Purchasing sound and video equipment that will allow us to video services and functions and project them onto full frame
                 projection screens

(12)          Having youth church services during normal worship service times

(13)          Telecasting ministry productions on local, national, and international networks via television, radio, and/or internet

(14)          Establishing Covenant Partnerships with interested persons nationwide

(15)          Purchasing property in efforts to build a church, family life center as well as a school and daycare for Christian instruction.

(16)          Formulating small groups at various sites for further teachings
